Tryst with Indian History

|| Shri Ganeshaya namaha ||

It has been a long gap from my previous posts.
Although I have posted selected few articles in this blog. I feel what I am going to start posting now will be of greater importance to the people of India, or those people whose predecessors were once part of this land mass.

I have always wondered, our country how is it possible that whatever we see in this country has one thing in common - "THE DIVERSITY". Being 5th largest country, [that means smaller than 1st to 4th largest countries] how can it have so many cultures, mindsets? Where did it all start? How did the cultures develop?
From where did these cultures develop?
Was it a migration from other regions in the Asia? or was it from another landmass?
What led to so many languages?
It seems that whenever a person thinks such questions, India like a Guru starts giving to her student all the hints to understand the Guru.

We all still have so many questions about our epics at least in the sub conscious mind. The only thing to pinch it is to read the following,
What do these Dasha - Avataaras (10 incarnations)
How is it possible for Hiranyksha to submerge the planet Earth under water when water exists only on Earth[research till now]?
And the next question is how could Varaaha take it out from the water?
How could Ravan cut his heads 10 times without dying?
How did Sugreeva, Hanuman and his army had strength to jump greater heights and distances?
Why was Hanuman and others were different in lookwise from us?
How is it possible that there existed a race of Ghatothgajas? From where did they come? From heaven?(just think)

I do not say that I have the answers with me for those questions.
Even you may have or you may not. Or we may again have answers like, Hanuman was extremely powerful to jump Indian ocean. Hiranyaksha was SO POWERFUL that he could put earth into water. Ravana had ultimate determination so he could Cut his head (???).

We hope we have fool proof answers in the near future whenever Indian history is questioned.
And Yes we will strive hard to get answers.

Hi,

I appreciate the cause and i being part of this discussion with Kiran for some time now and with my speculation i would interpret the article this way...

India is a land of prosperity, we have been a role model for many in the past... but unfortunately things are different now (I do not wan't to comment on this). Let me first answer the question, Why were we a role model in the past?(past here may refer to different yugas as well).

Dasha-avataras as pointed out by Kiran are said to be the incarnations of Vishnu on this earth as we see now. In the first place how do you define incarnation? Does Vishnu multiply himself in heaven and lands on earth! We cannot prove this statement mathematically or logically... Well in the current scenario what seems reasonable is Vishnu is a being (i call him supreme being) with all good qualities like preaching truth, helping others, destroying evil ... and many more.

A human being, when he beholds all the qualities of a supreme being (Vishnu) he tends to become a incarnation of Vishnu. You can analyze the qualities of Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, and almost all the incarnations. This holds true. Another quality of such a human being is he tends to become a role model for the society he lives in and thus great people like Rama and Krishna became gods and we tend to follow their path.

Now coming to the doubt of how hiranyakashapu submerged earth in water?, how Gatodhgaja was so big?, how could hanuman plunge over the sea? and many more... Well due to the lack of original source for these stories.. i mean to say Valmiki never saw lord Rama, but he still wrote Ramayana...We are in a nascent stage of proving the credibility of these stories. Although i am not totally rejecting the stories we have to think how good we can do in collecting the proofs for these stories.

Well to end with, to what purpose are we doing this. It is to counter act against people who have lost faith and hope about hindu culture. Against those who are feeling that the hindu culture is just a book work done in vedas and nothing more than that.

I would be happy to research on this vast and endless journey to know the truth behind hinduism..

Udaya M V
