Knowing what divides will not Unite us

Any news channel we observe, we see a debate or discussion under way based on the current affairs. For example recently we saw an emotional speech by a famous party Vice president, where an emotional pitching was seen. He cited riots in his speech starting from Muzzafarnagar to Gujarat to Kashmir. Immediately we saw a string of debates on Communalism Vs secularism. In the debate in timesnow we saw two politicians from major political parties, when a string of discussions opened up about riots starting from 1960s to now. Again those topics which raise emotional feelings in all viewers be it any community.

Though there is a need for media to debate and close any issue raised due to current affairs which affect india.
Media will not totally project what is good for the Country, they are bothered about their TRP.
But boon it seems, Social media has given a meagre voice (atleast) to the country and its intellect share of citizens.

All the political parties are capable to talk about those reasons/aspects which divide the people/community of our country. But if we really do a phase shift or see the complementary part, we may infact get many more inspiring and "Self" motivating aspects which connect:

1. Me with you
2. You with me
3. More important: Us with country

If we are able to tell what divides the country, then we should be able to find out what unites the country.
By talking What divides the country we will not be able to unite it.
But Talking about what things connect each one of us will give us a motivating factor and hence desire for Unity.

It is a good point.

We should be highlighting the issues that unites people. Those who are not aware, but who are interested to know would respond to this approach.

Unless minorities are given sufficient opportunities minority can not unite with majority.

@Unitor ...

Minorites in India are Global majorities... Islam and christianity are exclusivistic ideologies which believes that other spiritual PATHs lead to BURNING in HELL!!!

Africa, arab, west asia, north-south america is forcefully christian/islamic because of the exclusivity agenda of the abrahamic traditions!!

Minorities in india are given oppurtunities more than majorities in india and nowhere in the world they get the facilities like in india.

Minority is not uniting with majority coz the minority's ideology doesnot accept the vasudeiva kutumbham philosophy!!

Minorities not getting oppurtunity is pure nonsensical argument!!

@Anonymous:9:41 PM:
Mahatma Gandhi says: "a civilization can be judged by the way it treats its minority".

A simple wikipedia can show the way minorities are treated in India:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Christian_violence_in_India

I do not know how you can justify these data.

Our country is totally intolerant.

Not only minorites, the OBC, SC/STs are treated in such a bad way, you cannot even imagine.

People sitting in Cities, Urban will not see the discrimination.
They are treated like they do not have any self respect.

In India not only minorities but SC/STs OBCs who are part of Hinduism are also not treated in a respectful manner.

I think you are diverging from the topic.
Whatever problems you have mentioned are problems. I accept that.
We know milk has turned into curd.
We have to accept we will not get back the milk.
But I feel the topic mentioned here has an objective of making the curd sweeter and tastier so that everybody can taste it.

@unitor ... you have not answered the perspective about the socalled minority religions in india being the global majority OPPRESSORS wrt the history of south/north-america, africa, arab, australia where all the native cultures were raped and murdered by the abrahamic traditions .. you conviniently are escaping by not answering these points...

In india untouchability/caste superiority etc are all problems no body is denying it ... but these problems are nothing compared to CIVILISATIONAL RAPE and destruction caused by Abrahamic traditions in world history ...

Do you condemn the exclusivity of ISLAM and christianity and that they both must reform thier scriptures by saying 'Allah, Jesus, krishna, Rama, shiva' leads to Heaven???

I Hope this above point shall be the starting point of the discussion!!

unless you answer these questions i am afraid this discussion can never go ahead...

goodbye for now... i really wish you good and well being and i certainly want you to go to heaven ( unlike the islam/chritianity which says non-believers of allah/christ will go to hell) ..

Regarding your link ... ROFL ROFL

The above links are more violent than the caste system oppression of India (i believe castes should make an exit from India no doubt). Without criticizing the hypocritical religions of the world Chris-islam if india is criticized for its caste system ...

its an intellectual joke !!!!!

@All:
To unite all the people in the country we need to understand problems faced by almost all the people for their survival.

These problems are at their maximum for financially poor. as a result their problems are the most.

As we move up in the financial status the problems that appeal the low class more will appeal less for the lower middle class.

Same applies to the middle class.

Here we see the comfort level increases as financial status increases.

People in levels as they go higher they become virtually senseless for the problems faced by their lower counterparts.

I personally feel, we should start our focus on seeing, maximum population lies below what financial line.
Identify common problems of such people and then go levels higher.

Do you mean that until the perspective of the way minorities see the God/religion changes, minorities are always at fault?
Why are the majorities not changing their policies/practices so that the following people are not hurt;
1. Minorities
2. OBCs
Why is that a Brahmin does not allow a person from lower cast to enter into his pooja room or kitchen?
Why is it always a rule that only Brahmins and their kith and kin only perform puja at the temples?
Why is it that a Hindu priest avoids eating or drinking in a family/home of OBCs?

There are many such questions...
A person who has undergone discrimniation from his early childhood will be obviously averse to this caste system.

Clap has to come from both the hands.
