Vedic Mathematics-2

Contd... (from vedic mathematics 1)
Trick 3:

Finding squares:

Procedure: Take the support of 10, 100, 1000,... and so on... to find the squares

For example:
Situation a: Square of 96:
The number is near to 100.

Step 1.Therefore, Subtract 100 & 96
Answer is 04...............(i)

Step2. 96 -04=92...................(ii) (Because 96<100)
Left part of the final answer will be 92 (from (ii))

For the right part of the answer, square the Answer obtained in
((i) above)
04*04=16
Final Result: 9216

Situation b: Square of 104
The number is near to 100.

Step 1.Therefore, Subtract 100 & 104
Answer is 04...............(i)

Step2. 104 +04=108...................(ii)(Because 104>100)
Left part of the final answer will be 108 (from (ii))

For the right part of the answer, square the Answer obtained in
((i) above)
04*04=16
Final Result: 10816

Situation c: To find the square of 993
The number is near to 1000.

Step 1.Therefore, Subtract 1000 & 993
Answer is 07...............(i)

Step2. 993 -007=986...................(ii)(Because 993<1000)
Left part of the final answer will be 986 (from (ii))

For the right part of the answer, square the Answer obtained in ((i) above)
007*007=049
Final Result: 986049
